Former senior officials positively evaluated the development of China-India relations at a high-level two-track dialogue in Manisar of India's northern Haryana state on Monday and Tuesday.

Former Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo and former Indian National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon delivered keynote speeches at the meeting's opening ceremony, which was attended by more than 40 Chinese and Indian former government officials and academic experts.

The two sides discussed a wide range of China-India relations, including border issues, economic and trade cooperation as well as the increasingly important role of China and India in global affairs.

They believed that the dialogue was fruitful and expressed their confidence in the future development of the bilateral relations.

The dialogue was jointly held by the Institute of South Asian Studies of China's Sichuan University and the Institute of Chinese Studies in India.

The two sides agreed to hold the next dialogue in southwest China's Sichuan Province in 2020. The first such dialogue was held in Meishan in Chengdu, provincial capital of Sichuan Province in November 2017.
