Chinese Business Delegation Visits India

Qiwei, Vice Governor of Yunnan Province led the Chinese Business Delegation to pay an 8-day friendship visit to India from August 2 to 9. The delegation comprised three groups: Yunnan Provincial Government delegation, Mechanical and Electrical Chamber of Commerce delegation led by Lu Kejian, Deputy Director-general of Department of Asian Affairs, Ministry of Commerce of China, and business delegation led by Wang Jinzhen, Assistant President of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). They also attended the China-India Business Conclave held in New Delhi on August 3.

In the Conclave, the Chinese and Indian sides had extensive discussions and exchanges on economic and trade policies, bilateral trade, investment, economic cooperation, tourism, transportation and mutual business visits. The CCPIT and CII renewed cooperation agreement. Some of the Chinese enterprises reached cooperative intentions or agreements with their Indian cooperative partners.

During its visit in Delhi, the delegation called on the officials of the Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and visited Maruti Automobile Company. The Yunnan Tourism Bureau also held "Yunnan Tourism Presentation".

Besides, the delegation was invited to visit Kolkata and Bangalore.
