Clarification: No Highway Construction
(By Chinese Embassy in India)

An Indian newspaper report on August 11 alleged that the blockade of the river flow of the Pareechu in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China by large-scale landslide could have been caused by some road construction activity on the Chinese side in the region. It is the established fact that, within a radius of 30 kilometers around the landslide site, there is absolutely no highway nor any highway construction. The landslide is simply a calamity caused by heavy rainfall and natural landslide. The fabricated speculation of the report stands baseless.
