Henan Provincial Government Delegation Visits India

At the invitation of the Ministry of External Affairs of India, an 8-member Henan Provincial Government delegation headed by Li Chengyu, Governor of Henan Province paid a visit to India from August 28 to September 6. Besides New Delhi, the delegation visited Hyderabad, Bangalore and Mumbai.

During the visit, Governor Li Chengyu called on the Ministry of External Affairs and Department of Agriculture Research and Education and had extensive discussions on the exchanges and cooperation in the fields of culture and agriculture with them. He met with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister. The two sides expressed wishes to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in culture and trade. The delegation attended the lectures, discussions and luncheons held by the Confederation of Indian Industries, Andhra Chamber of Commerce and Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industries. The delegation had extensive interactions with Indian business personnel and reached consensus on business cooperation and trade. The delegation also visited the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Hi-Tech City and several enterprises, making studies of Indian agricultural research and technological extension, software, biotechnology industries and university education.
