On December 1, 2007, Ambassador Sun Yuxi of the People's Republic of China to India bid farewell to Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh requested Ambassador Sun Yuxi to convey his warm greetings and best wishes to Chinese leaders. He said, China is a great neighbor of India, and India attaches great importance to the development of friendly relations between the two countries. Dr. Singh expressed his satisfaction over the development of the relations between India and China and said if our two countries work together, it would not only transform the developing countries but also the whole world. The Indian Prime Minister expressed his appreciation to Ambassador Sun Yuxi for his contribution to the development of bilateral relations and hoped that Ambassador Sun Yuxi would continue to do so in the future.

Ambassador Sun Yuxi conveyed Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's warm greetings and best wishes to Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. He said, China and India established the Strategic and Cooperative Partnership in 2005. During Chinese President Hu Jintao's visit to India in 2006, the two sides reached a consensus in the ten-pronged strategy for reinforcing the Strategic and Cooperative Partnership between the two countries. Not long ago, Congress Party President Madame Sonia Gandhi visited China, becoming the first foreign politician to be received by the Chinese leadership after the 17th CPC National Congress.

Ambassador Sun Yuxi said under the personal directions of the leaders of both countries, rapid progress has been made in the cooperation between the two countries in various fields. The Chinese Government has always been dealing with China-India relations from a strategic and global perspective. The Chinese Government and its people are looking forward to the upcoming visit to China by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. We believe this visit will push the Strategic and Cooperative Partnership between the two countries to a new level.

Recently, Ambassador Sun Yuxi also bid farewell to Foreign Secretary Mr. Shivshankar Menon, Congress Party President Madame Sonia Gandhi and Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Mr. Somnath Chatterjee respectively.
