The Press Center for the Coverage of Events Marking the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China will be established in the Media Centre Hotel (11 Yi, Fuxing Road, Xicheng District, Beijing). The Press Center, to be open on September 22, 2009, will issue Media Pass and facilitate the reporting work of Chinese and foreign journalists.

Foreign journalists on a temporary assignment to China please submit applications to the Chinese overseas embassies or consulates. Foreign journalists based in Hong Kong and Macau please submit applications to the Office of the Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry in Hong Kong and Macau respectively. Foreign journalists accredited in China please submit applications to the International Press Centre (IPC) of the Information Department of the Foreign Ministry of the P.R. China.

In the meantime, all the journalists are kindly requested to make on-line registrations (http://foreignjournalists.fmprc.gov.cn/Foreignjournalists) as well. The coverage arrangements for major events will be updated on the website.

Foreign Journalists on a temporary assignment to China also need to fill in the Media Application Form and the Equipment Declaration Form (Foreign journalists who carry equipment upon entry must fill in the Form). Both Forms need to be signed and sealed by the person in charge of relevant organisations before being submitted to the Chinese overseas embassies, consulates or Commissioner's Offices of the Foreign Ministry in Hong Kong and Macau. The application is open from August 3 to August 23, 2009.
