Officials of Chinese Embassy in India Visit the Two Injured Taiwan Compatriots

On the morning of September 19, 2010, a tourist bus was shot by two unidentified gunmen near Jama Masjid in Delhi, in which two Chinese tourists from Taiwan were wounded. Soon after the incident, the Chinese Embassy in India activated its emergency-responding mechanism and kept following and verifying related information. The counsellor in charge of consular affairs in the Embassy was send to the hospital to visit the two injured Taiwan compatriots and to convey the concern for the matter. The Chinese Embassy also expressed its willingness to provide any necessary assistance and its wishes for them to recover soon. Currently the two wounded compatriots have received operation and are physically in a stable condition.

The Chinese Embassy in India has urged relevant departments of the Indian Government to take tangible measures to protect all Chinese institutions and personnel in India.
